Upgrade from Abiword 2.4 to Abiword 2.4.2 using XP Professional OS

Dear Folks:
I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me how I should upgrade from
Abiword 2.4 to Abiword 2.4.2 on a machine running MS XP Professional OS
without losing any of the documents that I have created and keeping all of
my settings intact? Do I need to Uninstall the old version of Abiword or
can I simply install the new version on top of the older program?

Secondly, is it possible to send a document created in Abiword to one's
Internet program such as MS Internet Outlook Express or MS Outlook Express
as may be done in WordPerfect or MS Word?
