AbiWord supports RTF as an exchange format.
I cannot think of a WordProcessor that you cannot use this with.
In principle AbiWord XML would be readable by any
application that really supports XML, but I don't forsee MS
offering serious XML support anytime soon. (As far as I can
tell, IE still cannot open XHTML pages, for goodness sake.)
