What can I say? Being new to AbiWord a couple of months ago
I did one or two installations from CVS whilst trying to
help track down compilation bugs. At some point (I know not
how, because I did not ask for them), I ended up with a nice
set of plugins which were automatically detected. This time
around, and in the absence of any documentation to assist
me, I read config--help and, for some bizarre reason, came
to the conclusion that the expression "builtin-plugin"
might, conceivably, mean what the dictionary leads one to
expect. I am not sure whence I was supposed to glean that
    -disable-shared was required.

I support OpenSource, I am grateful for the efforts of
developers, and I don't expect anything in the way of
support- but I can do without anything in the way of
sarcasm. Anyway, its your project, suit yourselves.
