1.-
I just finished compiling abiword 1.1.4 on a Linux/Debian P1-133,
because it is an old machine it took longer than expected, but that was
OK. We now know that the intallation can be done on the rest of the
machines.
2.-
When firt started abiword was directly from the desktop, using an icon.
It was to see the excellent work you people have done. However, when
attempting to enter some text, abiword collapsed, I tried opening
different types of files but there was not diference; abiword kept on
crashing.
3.-
I tried running abiword from the command prompt, using xterm; it
crashed. This time however, I was able to see what kind of error
messages the failure displayed and here it is:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The program 'abiword' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operations).
(Details: serial 8496 error_code 11 request_code 53 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally x errors are supported asyncronously;
that is, you will received the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program run it with the --sync command line option to
change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace for your
debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error function.)
