Hi there,

I use Abiword v 0.9.0 with Mandrake v8.0. Recently I tried to upgrade
to v 0.9.5. The only dependency problem was the need for 0.9.5 fonts.
This surprised me as I already have fonts available from the 0.9.0
install. Why aren't they acceptable?

Anyway I downloaded the relevant rpm file from Sourceforge. Now I got an
error message that adobe-full.u2g conflicted and the install was
aborted. I renamed the file to oldadobe-full.u2g. Now I had two
problems.

When I tried to install the new fonts I *still* got the same conflict
message and the install was aborted. How could this be when I had
changed the name?

On the other hand when I ran Abiword (still version 0.9.0) it complained
that adobe-full.u2g was missing. It still ran and I could use it. So the
rpm file thought that the file was still there but Abiword itself
thought that it was missing!!

So I changed the file name back to the original name. I still get the
conflict problem, of course, but Abiword *still* complains that
adobe-full.u2g is missing. Since I have changed the name back I am at a
loss to understand this.

Perhaps I should delete v0.9.0 before trying to install v0.9.5.

Any comments or help gratefully accepted.

Neil Winchurst
