Hi there,
I have finally managed to move to Abiword v 0.9.5 (using Mandrake 8.0).
I had some trouble with the main part failing to install because the
fonts were not there and the fonts would not load because of conflicts.
However I managed by forcing the program to install first and then
installing the fonts afterwards. This time they installed without any
problems. I should have thought of that sooner.
I had to add the English GB dictionary (British.hash) from SourceForge,
which leads me to my query. (By the way I had the same problem with
Abiword 0.9.0).
I find that both American and English spellings are being accepted, eg
both 'color' and 'colour' are passed as are 'plough' and 'plow'. (I know
that the spell checker is working because a genuine error, eg 'adress'
instead of 'address' is marked immediately.)
Has anyone else noticed this, and if so is it one of the bugs that are
being looked at? Or is there some problem with the dictionary that I
have downloaded?
Any help appreciated
TIA
Neil Winchurst
