It sounds like we're "thrashing" our piece table with lots of little runs,
and our printing is having trouble measuring these offsets accurately.

Could you try something for me: try opening the Word97 document, and
then saving it as an ABW document (in a temporary place). Then re-load
that document, and make sure it looks correct in AbiWord. If so,
try printing it (you can print to a file, then use something like "gv"
or "ghostview" to get a PostScript look at it) and see if things line
up better.

Currently this is because we haven't implemented a way for the
toolbar combos to grab the input focus from the document area.
These combo boxes will allow user input in the future, but for now
you can usually choose a dialog and enter them there (Font size
can be done in the Format->Font dialog, Zoom can be done in View->Zoom
dialog, etc.).
