wierd font selct dialog actions

hi-
i just compiled abiword-0.7.5 on my SuSE 6.0 Linux system. i typed make and
make install. it compiled with lots of warnings and such, but finished and
installed. now, whenever i end a word boundary (ie. hit spacebar, tab, return,
etc.) the font dialog will come down for me to select the option i changed
last (font or point size). at this point i cannot do anything until i select
an option. this happens for every word i type. this only happens once i
make a change to the font using the dropdown menus in the toolbar. if i use
the font dialog from the format menu, everything works as expected. i didn't
see a bug for this in the bug tracker. is this a know issue with a
fix/workaround, or a new issue/bug that i need to report? i can give more
info if needed.
