Yes. There have already been a couple people who have volunteered to do
so, but no work has happened yet. If you know someone who is interested in
getting this work started, please send them to abiword-dev.

Yes. AbiSource plans to develop an entire desktop productivity suite. A
spreadsheet will be high on the list of applications to come next.
