I just compiled AbiWord 3.0 from source on a Debian 7.01 system.
This was my ./configure command:
./configure --enable-plugins --enable-builtin-plugins --enable-clipart
--with-gio --with-champlain --with-libtidy --enable-templates
This is the result of that command:

The 'make' and 'make install' commands executes with no problems.
When I tried to run abiword, it wouldn't execute. issuing the 'abiword'
command from a terminal generated a "libabiword-3.0... not found."
Debian stable has a libabiword 2.9.something-dev. I installed that, and
now AbiWord runs.
The problem: Where's the spell checker? According to the Configuration
list, spell checking is enabled. There are no spell check buttons on the
toolbar, nor is there any mention of Check Spelling in the tools menu.
Even with this minor inconvenience, though, it's nice to finally see
3.0. Thank you for all your hard work.
