Abiword and Autokey - Linux

Hello!
I am using Abiword 2.8.2 with an ubuntu based linux install. I am also using a program for abbreviation expansion/running scripts called Autokey (http://code.google.com/p/autokey/)

When I type an abbreviation I want to be expanded into the document, Abiword deletes the last letter of the abbreviation and inserts all but the first part of the abbreviation to be inserted.

However, the program will correctly insert the abbreviation when I pull up autokey's pop-up window to select and insert an abbreviation.

Autokey engine is using X EvDev

I'm looking for suggestions on how to have Abiword delete the whole abbreviation and then allow the expanded text to be inserted correctly.

I should note that in all other programs Autokey correctly deletes the abbreviation and inserts the full expansion correctly.

Thanks for any help.
