the documents are variable sizes. It's actually a personal conceit. I am
learning how to write fiction for a hobby and I want to publish them on the net
but I'm not concerned just about the content I'm also concerned about the
presentation. The current "publish in a blog" model is convenient but not easy
reading. My goal was to try and place about 300 words of text with its internal
formatting/images etc. in a page with navigation to subsequent pages. I'm toying
around also with doing to 300 word section side-by-side Sort of like two pages
of a paperback book

yes I can do this all by hand but if I make changes, then I have to redo
everything by hand. If I can automate a significant portion of the actual page
generation then it's a win. Right now, I can Generate all the templates for the
surrounding page with background images, page count etc. and then dynamically
insert an HTML fragment that's complete ( i.e. everything within the body tags)
and I'm done
