Thank you for your reply. Typing "whereis abiword" resulted in:
zed@zed-desktop ~ $ whereis abiword
abiword: /usr/bin/abiword /usr/share/man/man1/abiword.1.gz
zed@zed-desktop ~ $
so it is there!
Looking at my original commands again, I noticed that there was a space
between the words "Form Letter". I closed this space and then, in
desperation, entered the commands
zed@zed-desktop ~ $ /abiword -m /home/zed/Clients/GHI/HKI/FormLetters/
Christmas/ Customers-HKI.csv -p /home/zed/Clients/GHI/HKI /
FormLetters/Christmas/Customers-2009.ps /home/zed/Clients
/GHI/HKI/FormLetters/Christmas/Christmas-2009.abw
**Notice that abiword is in lowercase and does not include a version number.
This resulted in:
(abiword:31790): WARNING **: Could not GPAReference Printer to
/home/zed/Clients/GHI/HKI/FormLetters/Christmas/Customers-2009.ps
(abiword:31790): GnomePrint-WARNING **: Could not create filter from
description 'frgba': filter 'frgba' is unknown
/usr/bin/lpr: The printer or class was not found.
I have checked /usr/bin/lpr and the file is there but as it is a bin file I
have no idea how to open it for examination :-(
Curiously enough, I can print direct from abiword in the normal way - by
opening a file created in AbiWord and clicking on the print icon.
Any further advise would be very much appreciated.
I have copied this email to the mailing list, also.
