I'm pretty sure that went away before 2.6.0.

The shortcut works for me on Linux - make sure you're holding shift (so
that you get ctrl-shift-8 (or ctrl-*) instead of ctrl-8

If that doesn't work, file a bug at http://bugzilla.abisource.com since
that would make it a windows-only bug. ("Front End - Windows")
