Hello,
I am trying to compile AbiWord 2.6.3 from source, but the plugins will
not load automatically once I finish. (I do have the option for
autoloading plugins enabled.)
I am compiling AbiWord first, using these commands:
./configure --prefix=/packages/abiword-2.6.3
make
make install
I then run a script I wrote which links every file in
/packages/abiword-2.6.3 into the /usr hierarchy.
Then I compile AbiWord-Plugins, using these commands:
./configure --prefix=/packages/abiword-plugins-2.6.3 --with-boost=/usr
--with-abiword=/sources/abiword-2.6.3/abiword-2.6.3-source/
make
make install
Then I run that script again, linking every file from
/packages/abiword-plugins-2.6.3 into /usr.
If I open AbiWord, the plugins are not active. If I open the
Tools-->Plugins dialog, it shows no active plugins. The Install button
opens a file chooser dialog in /root (I am running AbiWord as root).
If I browse to /usr/lib/abiword-2.6.3/plugins, I can choose a plugin
shared library file (*.so) and it runs just fine.
I am using a Linux From Scratch based system. (http://www.linuxfromscratch.org)
Does anybody know what I am doing wrong? Should I compile AbiWord or
AbiWord Plugins differently? Is there a directory where AbiWord looks
for plugins, so I can move the shared library files? Is there some
preference I don't know about? I have been trying to figure this out
for several hours, but I can't find anything.
Thanks in advance,
Grumpy Buffalo
