Greetings, all.
I've just discovered, for the second time in a long while, that
modifying the default font in an Abiword document requires altering the
"normal" style through the drop-down "create and modify styles" menu.
Simply changing and saving the font through the font toolbar in
normal.awt does not preserve the change. But other document settings
*can* be altered without necessarily modifying through the style menu.
I know the User Manual kind of makes this point, but it's easy to read
that entry as saying "anything you change in normal.awt will become the
new default setting," which is not true. I went crazy trying to get the
different font setting to stick until I remembered that it's got to be
through the style menu. Okay, I'm a dunderhead. But we can save new
users of Abiword a lot of time and frustration by adding a simple
clarification to the User Manual.
Or am I the only dunderhead out here?
