This strikes me as something I've heard of before, but not sure why.
I'd first suggest making sure you've got Enchant and a dictionary/spell
checker (like Aspell) installed. If that fixes the problem, please file
a bug and note that! If it doesn't fix the problem, file a bug and note
that it didn't fix it :)
Perhaps someone (Sum1?) else who is better at recalling bugs by memory
can let you know if this is a known problem. Otherwise you can feel
free to search at http://bugzilla.abisource.com/
