Not to my knowledge, but there is a version: if you are comfortable with
accepting reduced features and increased levels of other bugs (including
a few security bugs), version 2.2.11 (available on the file server link
on the downloads page) does have better font rendering. For a variety
of reasons I am lead to believe that our current font situation cannot
be simply resolved by reverting to code from that time frame, however,
that version itself does provide a possible short-term solution until
fixed code is available for the 2.4 series.
