spell checker greyed out on windows

Hi folks,

i installed the latest abiword (2.4.5) on windows xp pro x64 as well as all plugins, dictionaries, ...

the language of both windows x64 and abiword is set to de-DE, but although the relevant deutsch.hash is in C:\Program Files (x86)\AbiSuite2\dictionary all spell check related interface stuff is greyed out except the 4 upper check boxes in the spell check tab of options/setting (in de-DE: =>Werkzeuge=>Einstellungen=>Rechtschreibung).

what's wrong? maybe any variable? i thought abiword win would come with a fully installed spell checker, no?
