Re: Autopackage forthcoming?

I'm using Mepis (Debian), but the packages I get through "apt-get" or
Synaptic seem to have been through the Mixmaster. Nothing will install
(maybe this is why Mepis is switching its base from Debian to Ubuntu?).
Abi 2.4.4 works great over on my Windows XP partition, but on the
Linux side I can only run an old version (something around 2.2), which
comes on a Mepis resource CD. Autopackage seems like the way to go until
Mepis gets its act together. (To be fair, I'm not running the latest
Mepis version, which may be why Synaptic stalls.)
