I downloaded the tar.gz for a program called abispell. I had no trouble installing it, but abiword still won't use it or recognize it. Do I have to adjust a setting so abiword can find this dictionary.

The AbiSpell package you probably downloaded was most likely a
dictionary for AbiWord's built in ISpell-based spellchecker which is
used only when not built against enchant. You may want to check to see
whether your AbiWord deb package depends on enchant as this is the only
way I know of to determine what spell engine AbiWord was built for.
