One final message before I will consider this thread closed and request
that any discussion of the issue at hand (Limited users on Windows XP
MCE2005) take place at bugzilla.abisource.com in the bug report that
poogimmal will open:
I received a mail off-list with simply this as the contents:
> Suggestion - dump AbiWord !!
If I were to "dump AbiWord", as it were, there would in all likelyhood
not be a timely 2.4 installation file for Windows, and due to version
disparity between the Windows and Linux releases, our bugzilla and my
mailbox would be full of requests for me to take care of it immediately.
I suggest that the sender of this message, and any others who feel
similar hostility towards me, AbiWord, or the core developers who have
wisely decided to stay out of this mess, rethink their own decisions.
AbiWord is free, both as in freedom of code and of price, and you are
free to choose it, or another word processor at your own discretion.
If you are here to demotivate, derail, troll, or flame, please choose
another word processor and leave us out of your negative effects. There
are many happy users, many who cooperate with us, and possibly most
importantly, the developers, who would appreciate it.
If you cannot be positive and constructive, you are not wanted. This is
a community, and we pride ourselves on that.
I apologize to all the good users and all the positive people who will
read this, but it had to be said. Tireless optimism while turning the
other cheek apparently is too subtle for some.
Thank you, users, for using AbiWord, and thank you, trolls, flamers, and
others who seek to bring down this community, for leaving.
Sincerely,
Ryan Pavlik
