    I need to review the procedures for filing a report and attaching a file.
    In the meantime, to clarify: the DOS editor I use to create simple text
    files has a pull-down ascii table listing normal Roman letters as well as
    foreign accents, mathematical symbols, Greek characters, editing marks
    (the "paragraph" symbol that looks like a backward "P"), etc. Each has its
    character and Hex number. Any one of these inserted into the file causes
    the "error importing file" message from AbiWord. The DOS editor ("Breeze")
    runs on an old laptop, but the files open fine as long as no characters
     from the pull-down menu are inserted. The answer is probably very simple
    but something I can't see. I'll attach a file...
