    I can't help you with that encoding prob, but did you really say AbiWord
    1.0.7, or was that a typo? Maybe you should try the newest version, which
    was announced some hours ago. It's 2.0.5, currently (no binaries, yet).

    I don't know how old 1.0.7 is, but maybe you'll recieve better support
    when using a newer version. Of course, there's always support for older
    versions, too (and I see it's your machine that keeps you using mdk 7.2.
    That's 9.2 currently).

    But as I said, I can't help you with this specific problem right now.
