To make it clear to anyone wondering the whole reason I was using LaTeX to
get to PDF was because it was the method most likely to preserve
hyperlinks.
I tried it again today and realised what I was doing wrong so by using
the following command I am finally able to produce hyperlinked PDF
files with ease:
abiword --to=latex document.abw
pdflatex document.latex
I've wanted this for so long but never taken the time to get it all sorted
out. In hindsight it was easy, but isn't that always the way with
computers, the devil is in the details.
Now I need to see about improving the LaTeX export to support more
features. The LaTeX exporter does not yet support, Tables, footnotes,
endnotes, Table of Contents, Textbox Word wrap, or positioned objects.
