    Hi Martin,

    I am using gcc 2.95.3 (glibc-2.2.5. I run Linux from
    Scratch- v.3.3 (about a year old, but regularly updated).

    I ran make realclean on my cvs tree and omitted the
    extra-optimization flag. It is compiling as I type. And
    the outcome is ..... same as before.
