hmm, download abi source files and compiled abiword 2.0.2 everything seems to be right with abiword except the plugins. are the plugins compiled automaticly with abiword ?? if not how do i compile the plugins. where are the plugins placed at ?? /usr/lib/abiword/plugins ?? the root of problem with all of this is that i received a m$word doc with a jpg image in it, the doc opens but the jpeg image is not shown, why?? do i need some sort of plugin ??? also in abiword i can create a document and place a jpeg image in it but i cannot open a jpeg file. can't abiword open and view a jpeg file ?? sorry for the rambling but i've tried so many things that it seems like am creating more questions than finding answers. also on a different note, in abiword when i select menu item tools->plugins the plugin dialog box that comes up just barely shows the top of the "install new plugin" button. you wouldn't believe how long it took me to enlarge the dialog box so i could see the button. tha!
t might be something to pass along to other newbies. using vector linux. source files are in /root/abiword/abiword2.0.2
