    Thanks. I am running the LFS 3.3 I installed a year ago, and
    I love it. Thanks to Freshmeat's notification system
    absolutely everything is bang up to date and very nicely
    sorted, except for glibc/gcc going out of date. I keep on
    meaning to get around to a fresh install, because I am
    seeing increasing numbers of compilation failures as
    developers switch to the newer gcc (vide my posts to this
    list in recent months). So far everthing has been fixable,
    but the day cannot be far off when something crucial will be
    permanently broken unless I upgrade.
