I have these packages installed:
expat-1.95.6-11
aspell-0.50.2-74
aspell-devel-0.50.2-74
Hi:
I have compiled and installed Abiword 1.0.5 however I cannot get the
spellcheck to work. To compile it I did:
$ ./autogen.sh
$ ./configure --with-expat --enable-debug
$ make
then as root
# make install
When I try to do a spellcheck, I get the following splash:
"Could not load the dictionary for the en-US language"
I have installed the abispell-en-US.i386.tar and the american.hash and
american.hash-encoding are in /usr/share/AbiSuite/dictionary/
I get this debug output when I do a spellcheck:
DEBUG: ut_unixTimer.cpp: timer destructor
DEBUG: beginning spelling check...
DEBUG: modal spell dialog: xp init complete
DEBUG: Attempting to load en_US
DEBUG: SpellCheckInit: Pspell error: No word lists can be found for the
language "en_US".
DEBUG: spelling check complete.
I also did a find:
linux:/ # find . -type f -name "en_US*"
and it only found dictionaries for OpenOffice; namely:
/opt/OpenOffice.org/share/dict/ooo/en_US.aff
./opt/OpenOffice.org/share/dict/ooo/en_US.dic
Can anyone tell me the name of the dictionary I am missing and where it should
be installed ? Is it supposed to be en_US.xml ?
TIA
Jonathan
