For a while now I have been looking for a decent
(preferably freeware) program to open and edit msword
documents, especially in Hebrew. I have recently
discovered that Abiword now has Hebrew support. I
downloaded the windows version (I am running Hebrew
windows98).
I find it works well with English msword documents,
but with Hebrew is depends on the fonts. Times New
Roman works fine, (or courier in "plain text" mode),
but in all other fonts the Hebrew is reversed. Even
with Times New Roman there seems to be a problem with
the left parentheses being reversed.
Does anyone have any experience with this or
suggestions on how to use (or at least read word
documents with) other Hebrew fonts.
