    /usr/bin/abiword (I assume things throughout, if it follows other RH
    designs) is a symlink to the wrapper (AbiWord), which sets a bunch of
    environmental stuff (including fontpath) and then calls AbiWord_d, or
    alternatively, AbiWord_s.

    Parhaps that old b0rken issue the ximian/rh folks kept stumbling over
    with emptying the fontdir files due to an extra newline (or something to
    that effect)? What version of abiword is this?
