Thi sis a linking problem that Mandrake users typically get. You need to
install the the Xfree-devel packages I think. BTW if you get an error
like that during the compile it means that AbiWord did not build
properly.
As a general rule grab all the *-devel packages to do t=with gtk anf
gnome and Xfree

PS. I sympathsize with trying to compile on Mandrake. It may be a nice
desktop but it is pain to develop for.
PPS. An easier solution might be to place a bug somewhere in the
Mandrake system - AbiWord not provided. It's avaliable on RedHat why not
Mandrake?
