    You mention the "correct folder". I think this is very system specific so
    you might have to go looking for the "correct folder".

    I am using the Windows version on an NT (Windows XP) machine. On NT based
    machines (NT,WIN2000, XP) the settings are stored in the Documents and
    settings folder of the current user - not the "default" subfolder where the
    program itself is resident. My settings are located in: C:\Documents and
    Settings\My User Name\AbiSuite. This folder was created by AbiWord.

    I can see from your email headers that you are using "i586-pc-linux-gnu"
    and I have only very slight Linux experience. Perhaps the settings are
    stored elsewhere here too?
