If I understand you correctly, This sounds cool. I'm a great fan of styles
and I've noticed recently that, with so many different ways of formatting,
it can be hard to decifer which formatting attribute came from where,
whether through a style dialog or "manual" formatting. By controlling
everything through styles, formatting can really be handled well.

Does lock-styles also prevent the changing of the formatting of a single
word in a paragraph? For example, I often italicize a single word in a
paragraph, using the Ctrl-I key. If lock-styles prevents this, then I will
have to create and use a character style for such single word formatting.
While this isn't a problem, it will require the implementation of keystroke
shortcuts for selecting styles, for selecting a character style to format a
single word should be no more difficult or time consuming than pressing
    Ctrl-I.
