I personally want to make sure that embedding is handled well. I would hate
to see Microsoft Excel documents embedded as Excel documents, unless there's a
real advantage over Gnumeric. Rather, when saving as AbiWord, Gnumeric format
should be used for embedded spreadsheets, even if the source was Excel. And
when saving as MS Word, Excel sheets should be used, unless Microsoft has
gotten smart and supported Gnumeric.
If you use some shared library from MS Office to do OLE, there's really no
difference between that and the MS Word way of doing things. Remember that no
matter where it comes from, bad code is still bad code.
