I guess you're using debian linux which provides a gnome build of
abiword. If you install true type fonts for abiword and try to print the
truetype fonts it will fail because gnome-print does not do these
correctly.
If the debian linux build enables the "print directly" feature (look
under file) you might be able to print documents with truetype fonts.
Sorry about this. This is one reason I don't like to recommend truetype
fonts for abiword.
We're currently doing a major overhall of our font system which should
eliminate this problem.
