All good linux distributions include a version of Abiword, if it is
reasonably up to date you wont need to install a new version unless you
are really enthusiastic.
Connectiva uses RPMs, so you will want the Linux RPMs
Try the Gnome version first, and if you have any problems use the GTK
version instead. (RPM = RedHat Package Management)
Also learn about 'apt-get', it makes downloading updating software easier.
Connectiva were the first people to use apt-get with RPMs (usually apt-get
is used with Debain packages)
