    Hi there,

when I try to compile AbiWord within BeOS, I get the following error
    messages:

    make[1]: Entering directory `/boot/home/downloads/AbiWord/abiword-1.0.2/wv'
    make[1]: *** No targets. Stop.
    make[1]: Leaving directory `/boot/home/downloads/AbiWord/abiword-1.0.2/wv'
    make: *** [wv] Error 2

When I try ./configure in the wv directory, I get the following messages:

    checking for iconv... no
    checking for iconv.h... no
configure: error: * * * iconv is required:
    ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/libiconv * * *

Is that a known problem, and is it possible to compile the program despite
    of that?

    Thanks,
    Ignaz Forster
