Okay. I know the font question has been discussed already. However, I have
tried to ix the problem, and it aint happening.
I added the MS core fontpack to my /usr/share/AbiSuite/fonts/
Used ckfontpath to add the dir to my XFS config
Ran both ttmkfdir -o fonts.scale and mkfontdir
when I invoke abiword, I still get the same problem.
["Abiword could not load the follwing fonts or fontset....-*- Times New
Roman-medium-r-*-*-*-0-*-*-*-*-*-*]
Sadly, I know there are fonts Times Fonts there....
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-ascii-0
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-fcd8859-15
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-1
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-10
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-15
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-2
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-3
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-4
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-5
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-6
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-7
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-8
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-9
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-koi8-r
times.ttf -monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-koi8-ru
So I am thinking that maybe I am not connecting to the font server?
I can't actually tell what port its running on...
[root@naomi fonts]# ps ax|grep xfs
728 ? S 1:05 xfs -droppriv -daemon
17764 pts/1 S 0:00 grep xfs
does this mean 728...? I tried adding it..
[root@naomi AbiSuite]# xset fp+ unix/:728
X Error of failed request: 86
Major opcode of failed request: 51 (X_SetFontPath)
Serial number of failed request: 9
Current serial number in output stream: 11
I also set the "type1" module to load at the start of X, since that was the
fix for some people. Still nothing.
So, basically, I think I followed all the directions, and nothing has
worked. Let me know if yall have any suggestions.
