Hi,

I had the same problem, I solved it with:
- de-install abiword 0.7.12 (rpm -e)
- installed the abiword 0.7.10 from Redhat
- upgraded to 0.7.12 (rpm -Uvh)

Now it's working on RedHat 7!

I get the SAME exact error message when I tried to fix a non-running
Abi-Word. I installed it from the static source as the RPM kept failing
because of a dependecy on libglade.so.2. When I execute AbiWord per
instructions, I get an error about not being able to find the Times
"font or fontset". I combed through the site and found the xset command
given by Kevin below and I got the same exact error msg. I too am
running Redhat 7.
