Hi guys. I made some posts regarding this previously, and wasn't able to solve it. Now that I've got 0.7.12 installed, I'm posting regarding it again.
When I first start up abiword (with the shell script that's supposed to set my environment), I get the splash for a few moments, then the main window pops up along with a little dialog saying:
Abiword could not load the following font of fontset from the X Window System display server:
[-*-Times New Roman-regular-r-*-*-*-O-*-*-*-*-*-*]
This error could be the result of an incomplete AbiSuite installation, an incompatibility with your X Window System display server, or a problem communicating with a remote font server.
Often this error is the result of invoking AbiWord directly instead of through its wrapper shell script. The script dynamically adds the AbiSuite font directory of your X Window System display server font path before running the executable.
Well then. I'm running the static tarball install of abiword, ran the install.sh script; it threw stuff in /etc/local/AbiSuite - looks fine. I really don't know what to make of this one. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
