John Brewer did some initial work. Most of the work was related to getting
AbiWord to compile rather than implementing features.

What this means, though, is that most of the portability issues have been
resolved thanks to him.

Currently, there is not any work happening for the Mac version, and we
would love to see somebody pick that up. Regarding what needs to be done,
the answer is practically everything. The best thing to do is grab the
source, and see if you can get it to compile. We will offer you lots of
assistance should you run into any trouble.
