Simply put, filing a bug does not mean it will be implemented or fixed.
AbiWord developers work on their own time as volunteer. They don't work
for free, they work for their own pleasure, ie they choose what they
want to do.
If you really want to see this feature, your best chance is to implement
it or find somebody to implement it for you.
As a direct answer, chances are low as it is.
