Initialize it to NULL in the initialization and then the body of the
constructor will not have it uninitialized at any point. Now, it is wise
to initialize the members even if the body of the ctor will modify them.
Like that if you change the body at one point, you will not have bad
surprises. My lended 0.02 $ :-)
