I already replied on the Portable AbiWord forum where this came up
(http://portableapps.com/node/1255), so here's a copy and paste:

"If you include the OpenDocument plug-in by default, you'll need to
package iconv.dll, libgobject-2.0-0.dll, libxml2.dll, intl.dll,
libglib-2.0-0.dll, and libgsf-1-1.dll along with it (the plug-in relies
on all of them). I'm not sure if space is a concern, but those files
take up 2.94MB without any sort of compression applied.

GLib will be a prerequisite for the Windows build come 2.6.0, but that
version is far from being released (the currently unreleased 2.5.0
_does_ depend on GLib). Anyway, when this all finally comes together,
I'm pretty sure that the WordPerfect, OpenDocument, and OpenWriter
plug-ins will be included with the main package instead of a separate one."

In short, I don't see a problem with including it by default in Portable
AbiWord, but that work might eventually be superseded come 2.6.0.
