as far as I know the gimp is no longer provided for windows 9X due to lack
of manpower
there are also issue with gtk 2.8 using cairo and the work needed for 9x
has not been done there either
I'm not sure how this effects glib maintainance but I figure if gimp and
gtk 2.8 are not currently being maintained for windows 9x then glib is
probably not getting much testing on windows 9x anymore (if at all)
