While we're at it maybe goffice should be discussed too.
Deep integration between abi and goffice has been proposed (goffice is
not just charts) e.g. with regard to common metadata in the gnumeric
and abiword file format. There seems to be some interest in providing
a non-gtk version of goffice too, at least some patches were floating
around.
I have not really opinion about that, it would certainly be an option
to pick goodies from goffice in plugins or the gtk/gnome build until
the dust from the above library integrations settles and reconsider
then.
