Hi Frank,
         Thanks for articulating things so clearly. I much prefer this.

I also have a bit of frustration that all this coding work does not
improve the user experience.

I can see that it does help in the creation of new dialogs but do we
really need to rewrite lots of working code?

The preferences dialog excepted where the amount of work required to add
just one extra check box is simply insane.
