Changing the way the top ruler works with tables.

Hi Folks,
         I'm considering changing the way the top ruler works with tables.

Right now if we have a table

 0=======1========2
 0 1 2
 0=======1========2

And we drag the table line at cell "1" towards "2" like this..

drag "1"====>|
 0=======1========2
 0 1 2
 0=======1========2

we change the size of the cells before and after "1" to be...

 0===========1====2
 0 1 2
 0===========1====2

Whereas MS word keeps the size of the cell to the right of 1 the same size
so the table becomes...

 0===========1========2
 0 1 2
 0===========1========2

Now the way we do things works great if there are no merged cells between
1 and 2 but really screws up if there are. We don't really have a good way
to know which of the merged cells should be changed.

So I plan to change AbiWord's behaviour to match that of MS Word unless
people can convince me not to it. It is actually much less complicated to
implement and will reduce the number of bugs we have.

So people, if you don't think we should do things the MS way please speak up!

Cheers

Martin
