I attach a Perl script that takes a strings file and a po file (you can
use any language's po file, or generate a new one using update.pl -pot
in the po directory) and sends a new .po file to stdout. It doesn't
modify either input file, so there is no risk trying it.

For translations that only are up to date in the .strings file: maybe someone
could come up with a script to turn a .strings file into a .po file? Two
different translation mechanisms is hard to maintain, and I'd like to see the
.strings files removed from CVS altogether...
